IV Reversal of benzodiazepine-induced sedation
200 mcg by slow IV inj or infusion followed by 60-sec interval of 100-200 mcg further doses. Max total dose: 1 or 2 mg. Each dose be given over 15 sec & further doses be given only if no adequate response 45 sec after completion of inj. Recurrent drowsiness
100-400 mcg/hr IV infusion. Alternatively, further doses up to 1 mg, in 200 mcg bolus at 20-min interval. Max: 3 mg in 1 hr. Patients at risk from benzodiazepine reversal effect
100 mcg bolus inj. Childn
10 mcg/kg IV over 15 sec repeated at 60-sec interval. Max: 50 mcg/kg or 1 mg, w/ further dose if no adequate response after 45 sec after completion of inj. Benzodiazepine overdose
Initially 200 mcg IV over 30 sec, further dose of 300 mcg after another 30 sec followed by 500 mcg at 1-min interval. Total dose: 3 mg up to max of 5 mg. May repeat dose at 20-min interval if symptoms of intoxication recurs; not >1 mg should be given at any 1-time & not >3 mg in 1 hr.
