Atorvastatin Ca

Indications/Uses

Hypercholesterolaemia & combined (mixed) hyperlipidaemia.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Initially 10 or 20 mg once daily which may be adjusted at intervals of 4 wk. Max: 80 mg daily.

Administration

May be taken with or without food: May take w/o regard to time of day. Avoid excessive consumption (>1 L/day) of grapefruit juice.

Special Precautions

Acute liver disease, unexplained persistent raised serum-aminotransferase conc, porphyria. Severe renal impairment. Pregnancy.

Adverse Reactions

GI disturbances. Headache, skin rashes, dizziness, blurred vision, insomnia, & dysgeusia.
