Management of HTN & may have a role in patients who develop cough w/ ACE inhibitors.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Usual dose: 50 mg once daily, may be increased up to 100 mg daily as a single dose or in 2 divided doses. Elderly >75 yr, patient w/ moderate to severe renal impairment (CrCl <20 mL/min) or intravascular fluid depletion Initially 25 mg once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ renal artery stenosis. Lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness & dose-related hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, hyperkalemia, resp tract disorder, back pain, GI disturbances, fatigue & neutropenia.
