Citicoline Na
Indications/Uses
Cerebrovascular disorders (including ischemic stroke), parkinsonism & head injury. Treatment of senile cognitive impairment, either secondary to degenerative disease (eg, Alzheimer's disease) or to chronic cerebral vascular disease.
Dosage/Direction for Use
500 mg cap once or bid or 1 g FC tab once a day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Patients w/ hypertonia of the parasympathetic.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ acute, severe & progressive disturbance of conciousness, administration w/ hemostatics, intracranial pressure relieving drugs or use to measures to keep body temp low. Adult soln is not recommended for childn ≤12 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Increase parasympathetic effects, fleeting & discrete hypotensor effect.
Drug Interactions
Potentiates the effect of levodopa. Concomitant administration w/ meclofenoxate (clophenoxate).
