Per tab Amoxicillin trihydrate 500 mg, clavulanate K 125 mg
Indications/Uses
Tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media, acute & chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, thoracic empyema, lung abscess, boils & abscesses, cellulitis, wound infection, intra-abdominal sepsis, cystitis, urethritis, nephropyelitis, septic abortion, puerperal sepsis, pelvic infection, chancroid, gonorrhoea, osteomyelitis, septicaemia, surgical prophylaxis, peritonitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals for better absorption & to reduce GI discomfort.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to penicillin; infectious mononucleosis; previous history of penicillin-associated cholestatic jaundice/hepatic dysfunction.
Special Precautions
Severe hepatic dysfunction; moderate to severe renal dysfunction; hypersensitivity to cephalosporins. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
GI reactions; hepatic effects; hypersensitivity reactions; haematological effects.
Drug Interactions
Probenecid, allopurinol, disulfiram, anticoagulants, OC.
