Clopidogrel bisulfate 98 mg (equiv to clopidogrel 75 mg)
Indications/Uses
Listed in Dosage.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Recent MI & stroke, established peripheral arterial disease 75 mg once daily. Non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (unstable angina or non-Q-wave MI) Initially 300 mg then 75 mg once daily (w/ aspirin 75-325 mg/day). ST segment elevation acute MI 75 mg once daily w/ or w/o loading dose (w/ aspirin & w/ or w/o thrombolytics). Prevention of atherothrombotic & thromboembolic events in atrial fibrillation 75 mg once daily. ASA 75-100 mg daily should be initiated & continued in combination w/ clopidogrel.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Active pathological bleeding eg, peptic ulcer or intracranial hemorrhage.
Special Precautions
Patients at risk of increased bleeding from trauma, surgery or other pathological conditions. Patients w/ severe hepatic disease who may have bleeding diatheses. Severe renal impairment, genetically reduced CYP2C19 function.
Adverse Reactions
GI & intracranial hemorrhage, purpura/bruise, hematoma, neutropenia, agranulocytosis, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, gastritis, constipation, peptic ulcer, diarrhea, rash, pruritus.
Drug Interactions
Aspirin, NSAIDs, warfarin, phenytoin, tamoxifen, tolbutamide, torsemide, fluvastatin, CYP2C19 inhibitors eg, omeprazole.

B01AC04 - clopidogrel ; Belongs to the class of platelet aggregation inhibitors excluding heparin. Used in the treatment of thrombosis.
