Inactivated enterovirus type 71 (human diploid cell) vaccine
Indications/Uses
Immunity against enterovirus type 71 (EV71) to prevent hand, foot & mouth disease caused by EV71 infection.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM Inj in the deltoid of the upper arm. Childn 6 mth-5 yr Primary immunization 2 doses at 1-mth interval.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to inactivated EV71 vaccine, formaldehyde & kanamycin sulfate. Patients suffering from fever or in period of acute disease; serious chronic disease or w/ allergic constitution.
Special Precautions
Not to be administered intravascularly. Patients w/ thrombocytopenia or hemorrhagic disease; immunodeficiency disorder or those receiving immunosuppressive therapy; uncontrolled epilepsy or other progressive nervous system disease. Observe patient for at least 30 min after inj. Co-administration w/ Ig (at least 1-mth interval).
Adverse Reactions
Pyrexia. Pain, erythema, swell, induration; decreased appetite, post-vaccinal irritability, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, hypersensitivity.
Drug Interactions
Reduced immune response w/ immunosuppressants, chemotherapy drugs, antimetabolites, alkylating agents, cytotoxic drugs & corticosteroids.
