Lercanidipine HCl
Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
10 mg/day, may be increased to 20 mg/day.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Contraindications
Left ventricular outflow tract obstruction, untreated CHF, unstable angina pectoris, severe renal or hepatic dysfunction or w/in 1 mth of MI. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Sick sinus syndrome (if pacemaker is not in situ). Moderate to severe left ventricular dysfunction.
Adverse Reactions
Flushing, peripheral edema, tachycardia, palpitation, headache, dizziness, asthenia.
Drug Interactions
Digoxin (closely monitor patient). Cimetidine (>800 mg/day). Amiodarone, midazolam, diazepam, metoprolol, propranolol, quinidine, erythromycin, phenytoin, rifampicin, terfenadine, cyclosporin, anticonvulsants. Inhibition of metabolism by grapefruit juice. Alcohol may potentiate its vasodilating effect.
