Indications/Uses
Symptomatic treatment of painful OA, RA & ankylosing spondylitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
7.5 mg once daily. Max: 15 mg/day. Dialysis patients w/ severe renal failure Max: 7.5 mg/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals if GI discomfort occurs.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to aspirin or other NSAIDs. Asthma, urticaria, acute rhinitis, anaphylactoid reactions, active peptic ulceration, dengue hemorrhagic, CABG surgery, severe hepatic & renal failure. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn ≤18 yr.
Special Precautions
Peptic ulcer, CHF, liver cirrhosis, nephrotic syndrome & overt renal disease.
Adverse Reactions
Dyspepsia, abdominal pain, oesophagitis, anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, pruritus, rash, urticaria, acute asthma, lightheadedness, vertigo, drowsiness, oedema, increase in BP, conjunctivitis, visual disturbances.
Drug Interactions
Ticlopidine, oral anticoagulants, heparin or thrombolytic agents, methotrexate, lithium, diuretics, antihypertensives, cholestyramine, cyclosporin.
