Synthetic decapeptide ganirelix
Indications/Uses
Prevention of premature LH surges in women undergoing controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) for assisted reproduction techniques (ART).
Dosage/Direction for Use
0.25 mg SC inj once daily, starting on day 6 of FSH administration. COH w/ FSH may start at day 2 or 3 of menses.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) or any GnRH analogue. Moderate or severe renal or hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Active allergic conditions. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome may occur during or following ovarian stimulation. Women <50 kg or >90 kg.
Adverse Reactions
Local inj site reactions; headache; nausea; pelvic pain, abdominal distention, OHSS, ectopic pregnancy, spontaneous abortion.
