Bupivacaine HCl 0.5%, dextrose monohydrate 8%
Indications/Uses
Spinal anesth for urological & lower limb surgery lasting 2-3 hr, abdominal surgery lasting 45-60 min.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Urological & lower limb surgery 1.5-3 mL. Abdominal surgery 2-4 mL.
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to local anesth of amide type. Septicemia. Serious CNS disease eg, meningitis, poliomyelitis & cranial haemorrhage. Pyrogenic infection of the skin at or adjacent to puncture site. Severe shock. Coagulation disorder or ongoing anticoagulant treatment.
Special Precautions
Caution in patients w/ hepatic impairment, CV dysfunction. Debilitated, elderly or acutely ill patients; dose reduction may be required.
Adverse Reactions
Hypotension, bradycardia & post-spinal anesth headache.
