Indications/Uses
Alternative use to oral medication in duodenal & gastric ulcer, reflux oesophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, aspiration prophylaxis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
40 mg IV inj or infusion (20-30 min) once daily. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome 60 mg IV once daily. If higher daily doses are required, the dose should be divided & given bid. Aspiration prophylaxis 40 mg IV 1 hr pre-op.

Exclude malignancy. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, paraesthesia, light headedness, faint feeling, somnolence, insomnia, vertigo, reversible mental confusion, agitation, aggression, depression, hallucinations; gynaecomastia; diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, dry mouth, stomatitis, GI candidiasis; leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, pancytopenia; increased liver enzymes, encephalopathy, hepatitis, hepatic failure; arthralgia, myalgia, muscular weakness; impotence; rash/pruritus, urticaria, photosensitivity, bullous eruption, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, alopecia; malaise, hypersensitivity, increased sweating, peripheral edema, blurred vision, taste disturbance, hyponatraemia.
Drug Interactions
Diazepam, warfarin, phenytoin, disulfiram, other drugs metabolized via CYP450. Decreased absorption of ketoconazole or itraconazole. Increased plasma conc in concomitant use w/ clarithromycin. Increase & decrease in serum cyclosporine conc in concomitant use w/ cyclosporine.
